That's a weird thing to write about though. If it rains I'll sink into the mud? Honestly, that's either utter crap or a metaphor.

Maybe you'll learn something about poetry and writing when you get into 5th grade english next year.

The metaphor is where he's talking about something, such as death(Once I'd need to see the song to know whether it's crap or a metaphor), and talking about sinking into the mud. Or going into the backyard(A secluded place), to get away from other people(The clocks, etc.).

Christ its closer to allegory then metaphor, as I said before wait until you've done more than fourth grade english please. All you really know is about periods and punctuations, stick to that. Its imagery, simple as that.
