Default Coldplay - Ghost Stories

Quote:
“Ghost Stories” by Coldplay is an amazing album of just 9 songs. Every song is great, and the album flows well. So great that I also purchased this vinyl album which has really cool artwork, and that is what draws me towards an album, the visual arts. “A Sky Full of Stars” is probably the best song on the album and has a faster tempo. This album has a mix of slow tempo plus some faster tempo songs. “O” has a really awesome piano in it and the whole album just has a feel to it that was worth getting the vinyl from Barnes And Nobles bookstore.

According to Chris Martin in an interview with Zane Lowe, the singer describes the album “The idea of Ghost Stories, for me, was "how do you let the things that happen to you in the past – your ghosts – how do you let them affect your present and your future?" Because there was a time when I was feeling like they were going to drag me down and ruin my life, and the lives of those around me. I was very lucky to meet a very good Sufi teacher who started to introduce the idea of "if you sit with your experiences and the things you've been through, they alchemize." At the time he said that, I didn't really know what that meant, but I trusted that it would work, and the more that I was learning about that, the more music just started flowing through.”

What is great about Coldplay is the sounds they choose for the drum patterns, some songs slap with some bass, and some songs at dance type of music. I listen to dance music because of the chemicals it releases into the brain, it’s music that’s hard to not like, it's literally made to dance to. The Target Deluxe edition for this album has 3 additional songs that would have been nice to hear but not on the vinyl or Spotify. Timbaland added extra drums to one of the best songs on the album, “True Love” and by listening to it, it’s defiantly a drum pattern he uses. The song “Midnight” has techno and dance feel to it that starts out simple but speeds up towards the end of the song. The vinyl album I own of this album has really cool artwork, of constellations and just space/universe theme.

The Target bonus songs are on YouTube, so I am listening now and this “All Your Friends” track is really good. It has an older war theme for the actual music video on Coldplay’s YouTube page. “All Your Friends” has a sound that is similar to the rest of the songs they chose for the album on Spotify. If Spotify could get these on their platform, that would be great. Coldplay is one of my favorite bands, so liking the album is easy. “Ghost Story”, the second Target bonus song is also really awesome, it stays on the theme of the album but also not on Spotify, so I won’t be able to listen unless I especially want to research it on YouTube. Timbaland only added to one song on the album and would have been a better album if he added to like three or four songs on the album.
7 song album:
  • Always In My Head
  • True Love
  • Midnight
  • Magic
  • A Sky Full of Stars
  • Another’s Arms
  • Ink
