I looked up some after reading your post, and I just listened to Beyond the Dying Light. Really, really great stuff, I think you just got me hooked on this band.

Have you heard 65daysofstatic? They incorporate some Electronica into their sound if you don't mind that. I really like them. 'One Time For All Time' is exceptionally good.

I have not, though a friend has told me about them. I do like ambient music, which I guess isn't Electronica, but I can probably appreciate the elements. I will definatley give them a listen, thanks for the tip.

All I've got in the post-rock department are Talk Talk's last two albums ('Spirit Of Eden' and 'Laughing Stock' - highly recommended), Scott Walker's latest albums and PIL's 'Flowers Of Romance' (if that counts), so my knowledge here is pretty limited

They are a few of the originators of the genre and as such contain elements of Post Rock. They did'nt comply to the genre as it did'nt exist. It was bands thereafter that took elements of these bands. Post Rock is quite secular in it's musical outlook and is hardly progressive but if you love ambient music, then Post Rock is awesome.

Mogwai.
Godspeed You Black Emperor
Explosions In the Sky
God Is an Astronaut
65daysofstatic

are good examples of Post Rock and are easy to find at least on youtube to give you some idea. I equate a lot of Post Rock to ambient film soundtracks. If you don't like them, then you probably won't like the genre.

I just saw Mogwai live. They were LOUD as hell, but really awesome.
