i think it'd be cool if we all recorded our own song, and then submitted an individual track for a collaborative song

anyways, I'd like to do a song using D chords (whether it be the standard D, bar/power chord d, or open drop d)

Actually I'm curious, are we limited to one type of chord? For example, if I chose to do a Cadd9, could I use other notes, like the major seventh and what not as long as they fit in the context of C, or could I only use the notes in the Cadd9?

I doubt I could put together my own song, but I'll gladly at least try to contribute something to a song somebody else makes. If only I had some way to record my drumset and not make it sound like crap. I can play the drums well, but the quality of my set isn't so great.

I have a guitar, a bass, and a keyboard that I can sort of play. I can make weird sounds with my voice such as pig squeals, screeches and a variety of other crap. The problem is, the only stuff is a laptop built in mic and audacity. But yeah, I'll hopelessly try. I do have a few mics though, I just have to get something that I could use to plug them into my computer.

i would say if you do use them, use them only as though they were accidentals so that nobody has to worry about trying to detect a chord progression

I recorded a couple brief parts of songs with different D chords/notes. One was a conventional beat, and one was a really fast/intense one. I used electric guitar, bass, keyboard, and drums. I'll combine the two tracks somehow sometime and upload them.

I think I am gonna' have my song in by tomorrow. I have a droning track, but I feel like going somewhere else with it, and I don't have the time to finish it today.
