Default Oxbow

Oxbow play noisy postish-rock,free jazz/contemporary classical and are kickass. It's like taking Zu, and giving them a weird, black Nick Cave as a vocalist. Take a listen to their first album, F*ckfest, and be enticed.

I saw them at ATP - an intense live band. Disconcerting at times, and lots of fun too. Monstrously good drummer, and no dearth of technical ability from the other members either.

I was thankfully not in attendance at any of the shows where their frontman whipped out his dick and ejaculated over audience members. Fabled shows I'm delighted to not have been a part of.

The Narcotic Story is a good record.

Not so sure I would compare them to Zu, but they do have a noisy element. I wonder how long the vocalist can do that before vomiting blood? lol! Pretty cool.

OP has some great taste, all his threads are fantastic bands.

Maybe not full on Zu, but I can see some similarities, along with the Birthday Party. But they do so much on top of that and are a band totally in their own field.

Your're only saying that because they recently collaborated.

Cool band. Had "An Evil Heat" for a long time, after the Zu thing I checked out their other albums and liked them a lot as well.

Hey, I just realised that the 2017 Oxbow album was released on Hydra Head. Thought they closed down, but obviously they're back on the map? (the label, that is)
