Oooh, nice post. Well, I'm assuming you're asking strictly about classical pianists. At the moment these are the musicians I listen to the most so by default they're my favorites.

Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli
Claudio Arrau

Oh yeah, my favorite rendition. Frozen, affectless, perfect tone and atmosphere...

He should be better known, one of the great performers of 20th century music (and Bach too)
