Bob Dylan

Awesome and thanks. I'll look for all those albums in my future record store runs. Dylan's huge discography is very intimidating but I'm guessing I can pass on most of it.

Most of the time I hear Bob Dylan I think of Simon & Garfunkel, but I suppose that's just because I listened to them in the wrong order!

They are great. Paul simon is a great songwriter. I've just always been more of a Dylan fan.

Simon & Garfunkel were one of the first artists I really got into, so beating them will be tough for me.

I look forward to getting my Bob Dylan boxset and locking myself in my room for a few days! I'm sure I'll be back here to talk about the experience.

Haha keep me updated. I came across Dylan in a really rough time in my life, although I had heard him before, his music started speaking to me like nothing ever had before. It changed my life. I remember the first time I heard him, I said "what is that crap?" Haha. Bob isn't always going to sound good to the ear at first, you have to look beneath the surface to really appreciate his music.

i have most of it, but i sure as hell ain't touching the slump albums Down in the Groove and Knocked Out Loaded

As far as Christian rock albums go, I think they're stellar,

. But yeah, as far as Dylan albums as a whole go they're slightly less than mediocre. I do love the sound that Jerry Wexler and The Muscle Shoals Horns managed to produce on Slow Train Coming. Saved is easily the lesser of the two albums and I'll admit I only heard it enough times to know that I don't care for it. Iy was a very brief, but interesting segment of Dylan's career, considering that he became a born again Christian long enough to kick heroin and put out two christian albums. There's a very lengthy and obscure documentary that was made regarding this period of Dylan's life almost exclusively. I can't remember the name to save the life of me, but it was very good.

Really? I would like to see that documentary. I agree, compared to his other albums, they aren't that great. But, Slow Train Coming isn't bad at all. I never thought of it as a Christian rock album

, when I look at it like that, it's a great album.

It's called Rolling Thunder and the Gospel Years and it's 240 minutes long.
