I just want to thank the OP, as I was intrigued by this thread and looked him up on iTunes on Friday morning. I have listened to pretty much nothing else all weekend and now own more or less everything he has released.

The Sometimes the blues is just a pssing bird EP is absolutely sublime. Easily one of the best things I have ever heard and even taking into consideration my gift for hyperbole, that's quite a strong statement!

I recently got "The Wild Hunt" and it's great stuff. Comparisons to Dylan are a bit unfair though, he's an obvious influence but for God's sake hes his own man.

He should be glad that Dylan fans are comparing him in a positive light, and not in a "YOU'RE COPYING THE MESSIAH!" kind of way. In fact, I'm surprised he doesn't get called a hack more often. Not because I think he is one, but hardcore fans tend to always draw back to that regardless.

He's a breath of fresh air, this guy! My personal favorites are The Gardener, Kids on The Run, The Wild Hunt and Where Do My Bluebird Fly.

I love this band. I love his Dylan-esque lyrics and vocals, he's a wonderful singer.

On the subject of TTMOE, both albums are great but Shallow Grave edges it for me.

Never really post much in this section, but good to see there's at least one guy creating interesting folk music.
Assuming others have heard There's No Leaving Now, what's the general consensus.
He's an artist that doesn't require much listening to get behind, his musics simplistic yet endearing and personally I think he gets better with every record that he comes out from under the shadow of Bob Dylan.
I'm not like some saying There's No Leaving Now is the record of the year, it's not. But it's pretty damn good.
