Good to see some love for Duo Ouro Negro.
That’s probably their best album.
If you like the song Upa Neguinho,
consider Elis Regina’s version as well as Edo Lobo’s.
You can hear both of them sing in this clip (but, not together unfortunately).
Lobo’s version is right in the middle.

Elis Regina live version.

This list is by no means exhaustive, but it's a start. These were artists I grew up listening to in the 70s-80s because of my Dad. He was a big Country fan, so a lot of these artists are burnt into my memory because of him. But his all-time absolute favorites were Merle Haggard and George Jones. It was Merle, George and then everybody else.

Merle Haggard
George Jones
Johnny Cash
Hank Williams Sr.
Willie Nelson
Waylon Jennings
Marty Robbins
Lefty Frizzell
Eddy Arnold
Faron Young
Roger Miller
Buck Owens
Jim Reeves
Ray Price
Conway Twitty
Vern Gosdin
Don Williams
Charley Pride
Tom T. Hall
Statler Brothers
Bellamy Brothers
Alabama
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Tammy Wynette
Loretta Lynn
Dolly Parton
Patsy Cline
