Township Jive & Kwela Jazz (1940-1960)

Picked this up on a recent trip to Amoeba. I remember having someone play some Township jive for me many years ago and really liking it. Bought this on a whim and I'm really digging it. Very infectious and spirited - Good get your butt moving in the morning music. Highly recommended.

Kristen Kelly is an awesome new country singer from Waco, Texas. Her whole EP is killer, but "He Loves to Make Me Cry" is absolutely beautiful.

Man, you weren't lying. Girl's got some pipes.

I've been enthralled with this song for a couple weeks.

Does anyone have any recommendations for some good son jarocho? Specifically, I'm looking for some that sounds like the music in the video below, with violin and yodeling style of singing. Everything I'm finding has neither of these things.

In terms of "Classic Country" Chris Young provides a great mix of old-new styles. His music is typically more structured than that of Currington, but Young is without a doubt "Classic"
