Good song, but this is what I was saying about twang. This rides the Southern Rock line too well for me.

So if thats what he's asking about, it could be anywhere.

I couldn't find the album version, so this isn't going to sound as "freaky" as it does on the studio version, but I'd say you won't waste your money if you download the entirety of Cripple Crow. I'd up it for you but I don't have a CD-Rom right now.

What do you mean by one-way community?

Also, the video that you embedded sounds great, but it doesn't sound too avant-garde to me (even if it isn't, I'm still going to check him out). I'll have to find the studio version to see if you're right about it. Thanks for the recommendation.

the album is. the just don't have it on Youtube as near as I can tell. Also, unless you can tell me what you mean by avant-garde, this is about as far as I can go. Most times people mean fuzzy-wall-o'-sound when they're talking AG, so you're not going to find that.

I don't think of Cripple Crow as avant-garde at all, it's very much a throwback to 60s folk if you ask me. Terrific album though, no doubt about it.

This is avant-folk, it exists and it's amazing.

A potent combination of several folk subgenres, gives off a very world-y sound in the end. That wall of string sound hypnotizes me.

I definitely hear some experimental elements to it. WOW. The general sound of this is just wonderful. Both these guys and Devendra Banhardt are excellent suggestions. This is going to give me something to do. I greatly appreciate it, but I'll stick around to see if anything else that's amazing is suggested.

EDIT: By the way, which Big Blood album would you suggest?

This was a great song, but not quite what I had in mind.

I'm talking about a band that (somehow) combines the heaviness of Black Sabbath (as a few of you mentioned) with other elements commonly found in country music. Maybe even one with two guitarists, one guitar playing the "twangy" country and the other one with heavy riffing.

I don't even know if there is a band like this, but so far my searches have been inconclusive.
