Can't say I've ever heard of The Strawbs.

The Ozzy piece I posted is Randy Rhodes, his guitar player that died. It's kind of the intro to Suicide Solution. He was Classically trained and wanted to inject some of that into the album. Actually, most of his stuff has a tinge of that, just not as blatant as Dee.

^ I don`t think you`re missing much; the Strawbs music is pretty forgettable imo, even though Rick Wakeman was in their line up for a while.
Yes, I remember the name Randy Rhodes - didn`t know he was dead though.

Is this thread actually about medieval folk rock, or have I just made it that way ? Whatever the case, I`d like to give a big to Aunt Grace of Hastings. I don`t suppose she`ll ever turn up in the Most Influential Musician thread, but she was a significant link in the chain that led to the English folk revival in the 60s:-
