Throat and overtone singing

There are many throat singing and overtone singing traditions around the world and also lots of modern singing with those elements. Any fans here?

Some examples:

Huun-Huur-Tu might be among the more famous tuvan groups:

Sainkho Namtchylak, also from Tuva, mixes traditional music with more modern and experimental stuff. Here seen doing something more traditional though.

Oidupaa Vladimir Oiun might be a more obscure example. His music is unusual, because the tuvan singing is accompanied by the bayan, a russian type of accordeon

Kongar ool-Ondar might be one of the more famous throat singers, having appeared on Letterman.

Bolot Bayrishev from the Altay region. The lyrics are in russian, which is an interesting combination, but most likely unnoticeable if you don't speak the language.

Tyva Kyzy, a great all-female group from Tuva. Traditionally the singing was mostly limited to men, but thankfully that changed since female throat singing sounds great.

I think Oidupaa is my favourite. Here's Arrington de Dionyso of Old Time Relijun. His solo stuff is throat singing based and pretty awesome, he also adds in some throat singing to OTR's music.

Spent a short time digging into Tuvan throat singing earlier this year, Oidupaa is also my favourite. Yat-Kha is pretty great too.
This is probably my favourite overtone style track ever recorded. Unstoppable throat bass.

Yep. Oidupaa is great. He sadly died not that long ago. Was hoping he'd do some more albums. There should be some cassettes floating around, but I could never find them. Only have "Divine Music From A Jail" and "Singing With Echoes Through The Universe", with the first one being my favourite.

I'm also a fan of de Dionyso's music. This guy is great at pretty much everything he does.
