Idk what you've heard, but it's not as good as this post makes it out to be.

Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club will be latest S.D. golf course to close - The San Diego Union-Tribune

*fist pump*

Quote:
It was a difficult loss for Dan Thompson and his fellow men’s club members when the Carmel Highland Golf Course in Rancho Penasquitos closed in March 2015.

As they watched the facility on the west side of Interstate 15 die and become overgrown with weeds, the group of about 75 moved three miles east across the freeway to Carmel Mountain Ranch Country Club.

They’ve been happy to have a home, but they’re about to have the grass ripped from underneath them again.

Carmel Mountain Ranch General Manager Kevin Hwang, whose family has owned the course since 2008, confirmed for the Union-Tribune on Tuesday that the course will close after the final putts drop on July 8.

“It’s frustrating. There’s sadness,” said Thompson, who lives near the golf course and owns two other houses in the neighborhood. “When I first heard, it was, like, ‘Are you kidding me?’

“They’re going to stop watering it; it’s not going to be maintained; and it’s going to become a blight on the community.”
Oh dear, you poor things!

See, I don't get this mentality. Someone is going to get elected, right? Can we agree on that? Now that someone can affect your life in ways either very personal (civil liberties, rights to your own body, separation of church and state, etc.), or on a grander scale (the stock market, oil prices, cost of goods, real estate values, etc.).

So why not support a side based on your own personal ideology and principles (and self well being)?

All I know is that Linda and I sold at the right time. The stock market keeps creeping down because of trade war fears and oil prices keep creeping up because of lack of regulation.

The house we sold for $500K three months ago is listed on Zillow today for $493K. And we all know that Zillow inflates their estimates. I'd wager its market value right now is more like $480K-$485K.

Yes.

Where we probably disagree is that getting elected in the United States inherently requires corruption.

1. It is the same as giving the go ahead for corruption.
2. There are no sides based on my personal ideology because of 1, among many other things. What more often happens is that people base their ideology on the side they were born into or opposite of one that they've rejected.
3. Lack of real action.
