Trump sucks no matter what Hillary did, obviously. If she had won the presidential election, she'd probably be deserving of impeachment by now.

The Federalist? Really?

Has any politician ever been brought before more Senate and House committees, hell bent on finding something, anything, to charge them with, but yet time after time they come up empty and dragging their tails between their legs when all is said and done?

If someone is a crook - prove it. Otherwise STFU.

Just gonna bookmark this in case Mueller doesn't charge Trump with anything.

They ran for the same office and have both been accused of collusion (Trump directly with Russia, Clinton and the DNC with Ukraine and firms like Fusion GPS who used Russian sources). They are also both accused of money laundering. The public doesn't want a consistent standard that applies to everyone: they just want their side to win because its entertaining. Jonathan Haidt's observations on tribalism are my biggest reference point for how things are today, but what Clinton does isn't irrelevant. Just as Trump could set a precedent for allowable behavior, she is responsible for lowering the bar for a whole separate demographic.

The bigger problem, however, is that at the end of the day it doesn't really seem like these proceedings matter because nobody of real prominence go to jail for their wrongdoings. Pence will come out on top even if the Democrats get their way on everything else. Nixon and Clinton both got their fair share of the spotlight for their respective ****ups but still basically walked away with zero consequences.

Or maybe people complain more about Trump because he's currently in control of the whole nation. He's in a position to do massive harm, so he needs to be kept under sharp watch. The same should go for any president.

How surprising that many Germans don’t want to be annexed by Syria.

^ Thanks for posting this interesting story, OH. It must be very worrying for Angela Merkel - especially the knowledge that a similar incident could occur again at any moment.
Sorry if it sounds pedantic, but isn't there a distinction between a Syrian and Iraqui guy being suspected of murder and Syria annexing a town? I wonder if you can join the dots for us without recourse to far-right propaganda.

^ I think I have successfully wrapped my head around your idea, Anteater, and in fact it's absolutely true. Unfortunately, as others have said, it's legally irrelevent.

Many of Trumps cries, allegations and promises have borne no fruit at all when tested in irl: "Lock her up","Obama is phone-tapping me", "Who will pay for the wall? Mexico!" If I were a Trump supporter, I'd be wondering by now why nothing has come of these claims; I might even make a comparison about investigations into the Clintons and investigations conducted by Mueller. If I then found this score card on line, I suspect my loyalty to Trump would be tested to breaking point :-

^ If these stats are true, 12 years of investigating the Clintons have found nothing worth indicting on. Mueller's investigation has come up with a bunch of legal liabilities after just a year. More importantly, Mueller's investigation is throwing light on the real and present danger of continued Russian meddling.

(My apologies for posting a photo that says, "Enough said" at the bottom. That's a very rude and arrogant way to contribute to a discussion imo.)
