My point was that a politician that has accusations of having sex with underage prostitutes in the Dominican Republic wasn't being called out like he should have. If Menendez was a republican I would have done the same. I was against Roy Moore when he was accused of the same thing.

And again, my "praise" of Carlson was mostly a joke. I do think the guy has some interesting points but I disagree with many of his opinions (such as those concerning the president). I don't think I should have to put note: not a republican! at the end of all of my posts. I apologize for you taking what I said in a different way and I will make an effort to make sure my points aren't construed the wrong way in the future.

So let me get this straight- you want me to immediately agree with people accusing me of being something that I'm not because if I don't I'm being defensive and am indirectly admitting to being such? You kinda got me trapped in a logical mobius strip there.

I don't like a lotta yacht rock or metal, unfortunately. I like Steely Dan (that's yacht-y, right?) and I like a few metal bands but it's not a big love of mine. Especially not as much as it used to. I'm definitely a more electronic/jazz kinda guy.

You self identify as a libertarian despite displaying a Republican mindset, ergo you are a modern libertarian.

Not gonna just take your word for it either, I was a libertarian in high school too and I wouldn't have copped to conservatism despite parroting the **** I heard from my family. You're not "pinned down" as a conservative, but it's what it looks like at this point in time.

I still don't see this "Republican mindset" I have. When did criticizing liberals for something become inherently Republican? Again, I would have disagreed with a right winger who espoused beliefs contrary to mine, such as the case with Merit, but at the same time I would want to learn more about their point of view (I demonstrated this both with elph and Merit, some of the most polar-opposite minded individuals I've met on this site).

I'm not copping to conservatism or any ideology. Overall I think labels are pretty stupid which is why I still sort of call myself an "independent" (which is actually what I registered as but I guess they file independent and libertarian together?), but if there's a political ideology I most agree with it's libertarianism, thus while I'll vote for libertarian candidates. And my support comes from only what I believe, and nothing more. The "pinning down" is in reference to what you're trying to do in the way that you're attempting to make me admit I'm a conservative when I'm not.
