FTR i mostly agree with you that porn and social media are really ****ing with human interaction in a negative way, i just dont like all the other **** youre adding on to that position. People escaping to watch vanilla porn seems to be just as ****ed up for sexual health as the “bad” stuff.

I meant that the algorithms don't have the users best interests in mind in both cases. Which is essentially at the core of the problems that they introduce.

This can have unintended consequences, but just because it doesn't have people's best interest in mind doesn't mean that it's inherently negative. Bread isn't healthy but it's not poison or some other analogous **** that only about 70% applies to this discussion.

That my hyperbolic example of ankle photos were evil, would destroy sexuality/society, and that they would lead to depravity. Proposing what you find creepy to be the one logical ideal of what creepiness is when other members say they don't have issue with the roleplaying has that ole time religion feel to it too.

OK fair point. It doesn't have to affect you negatively but it can. I worded it wing. I should have said there's a precedent for the idea that technology can actually impact the psychology of the user. Because at the beginning I was getting pushback to that idea based on the notion that porn only reflects human sexuality. I'm saying it impacts it and shapes it too.. and I'm not always comfortable with the direction(s) it's headed.

So maybe the argument might go something like first she's showing her ankle, then her calf, then her thigh. Then the whole shebang. That's the slippery slope argument a nutshell. But that's basically what's been happening for some time now so i don't understand why people still don't believe in the slippery slope.
