Plenty of non-blanket genocide going around, Cletus.

and The Marshall Plan? Yikes.

100% about crafting a world under US control where no country could fall to the pesky communists and their talk of self-determination
Lol stop being a little bitch. Circumstances aside, America still birthed jazz. As in, it wouldn't exist today without those circumstances. Did Europe or any other country have a jazz tradition before the U.S.? No.

I missed an obvious one a few pages back too - electricity. America <3

^ Well, not in a list of things America can take some pride in, no. In an analysis of how art can grow out of atrocity, yes.

^ Not sure how to respond to "Yikes" as a debating point, elph! Luckily, I'm off to work now, so don't have to explore the morality of the Marshall Plan, which tbh, I don't know much about apart from what they told me in High School.

I know you think liking post punk makes you smart but it's really just a fashion accessory.

No, but it's pointless whining about what you are talking about when you have centuries of history prior to America where civilizations were built on the oppression, enslavement, whatever of whoever happened to be there before. Nothing happens in a vacuum. Does Rome ring any bells? How about the Mongols? Domestically, the Aztecs and Mayan civilizations were into some bad **** as well. Are those cultures devoid of merit despite the millions that suffered?

If you want something practical out of this, I'd recommend appreciating the fact that if diversity didn't matter in America, you wouldn't have multi-billion dollar companies and organizations pushing messages about toxic masculinity, the "evils of white nationalism", lots of imagery of mixed race couples, etc. into the mainstream or making Colin Kaepernick the face of an ad campaign that spent millions upon millions to reach a lot of people. Going by all that, I'd say diversity and the desire to perpetuate it is alive and well.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.
