i believe that it wasn't about isis tbh. i don't think omar was one of those crazy wahhabi muslims. if he was... he woulda at least made him wife wear hijab. he doesn't strike me as one of those super religious muslims at all... i also don't think it was terrorism. i think he was a psycho.

He was a self-loathing homosexual who went on a psychotic rampage because he couldn't reconcile his desires with his upbringing.

When this story first broke, I said to ked, "This guy is a homosexual."

Led Zeppelin appear in court over Stairway to Heaven dispute - BBC News
I heard "Tauros" a few years ago, and it's only vaguely reminiscent. Same tempo, I think so. But it seems like it would be more influence than anything.

Same tempo, melody, and similar tone as the intro. It's clear as day imo. Too bad Zeppelin could afford a squad of lawyers that Spirit couldn't even dream of buying.

Spirit's jealousy doesn't stem from the intro maybe being plagiarized, it's that the rest of Stairway To Heaven is brilliant and that they didn't nearly have the talent to emulate such good music. It was a ridiculous lawsuit to begin with, I saw right through it since the beginning.

The part everyone and their mother learns on the guitar is the intro and the guitar solo, so Spirit is responsible for a lot of wind up monkeys' talent building. Therefore Spirit is more important than Led Zeppelin.

Also, Zeppelin's absurd defense is that they were too wasted at the time. If you're trashed and commit a crime it still happens, you rich bitches.

How similar were the actual notes? That sounds like the real deciding factor. Can you look at the tabs and say definitively that they're just way too similar?

Next week, Bach sues Davy Graham.
