Roe vs Wade. Jumping off a cliff. It's all arbitrary. You get my point. The government forcing people to do things against their will and calling it "freedom" is fucked up. No way around it.

Hardly. Civil rights were not the result of rebel yells. It was mostly the work of those damn politicians and evil goverments.

The removal by legislation of a civil right constitutes a "civil disability". In early 19th century Britain, the phrase "civil rights" most commonly referred to the issue of such legal discrimination against Catholics. In the House of Commons support for civil rights was divided, with many politicians agreeing with the existing civil disabilities of Catholics. The Roman Catholic Relief Act 1829 restored their civil rights.

In the 1860s, Americans adapted this usage to newly freed blacks. Congress enacted civil rights acts in 1866, 1871, 1875, 1957, 1960, 1964, 1968, and 1991.

Did you not understand the point of my post? Are you even less intelligent than I pretended to give you credit for?

You think civil rights laws were passed on a whim? They were in response to those "rebel yells."

Please go deeper into this metaphor.

But like, with the analogous words of the metaphor specifically.

I get where you are coming from. My question is: Are you just going to sit back and bitch about it, or do you have any valid ideas for how to fix it?

We're at a point in US history where we can't simply rip the foundation out from under the house - otherwise the country would collapse in every way possible: economically, criminally, socially, basically complete chaos - so we have to come up with ideas that would have a chance of working on top of the current foundation.

No. In the beginning the church was the main motivator.

Also:

Blowing up (figuratively) the current US govermental institution >>>>>>> Civil rights
