Well, maybe in a perfect world they'll come in and nail both Clinton (Bill and Hilary) and Trump for destroying American democracy.

But somehow I suspect Americans will continue to be comfortable in their apathy.

PS- How can you say you supported anyone if you didn't vote? I supported and voted for Sanders in the primary (I admittedly held my nose when I voted for Hilary in the general- I like the Green Party, but Jill Stein was just a little too weird)

I didn't vote. But I supported Clinton
I’m sure she appreciates that. It’s the thought that counts.

I was actually pretty sick that day and spending a lot of time in the privy.

Clinton beat Trump by 4,270,000 votes in Cali so I figured she'd be OK without me. And I supported her leading up to the election by pointing out all of the ways she was less evil than Trump. Probably didn't flip anyone but at least gave em food for thought.

Re: Sanders - Clinton beat him by a whole 12% of the votes (3,682,000). And that's just with the Dems voting. Pretty much a landslide.

By comparison, Trump lost to Clinton in the popular vote by 2.1% (2,868,691) and that's with both parties voting.

Hey, why don't they use the electoral college in the primaries? (might be a dumb question - it just popped into my head)

I guess. I’m some sort of southern white trash.

Because the electoral college is a product of constitutional laws and primaries are governed by the political parties. The process of choosing a candidate is completely up to the discretion of the party. Even having a primary is just a courtesy or a way to garner attention or whatever. And yes, that’s a dumb question. It shows you don’t understand the difference between a candidate and an elected official.

That's true. Historically, they didn't even have primaries. The party bosses decided who would be their candidate. It might have done us some good last year because, though I'm sure Hilary would have gotten the Democratic nod anyway, the Republicans would certainly have chosen someone other than Trump, possibly Rubio who seemed to have started out as the heir apparent.
