That might change. It's apparently the 2nd fastes growing sport in the US. Fast forward 10-15 years and it might be considerably more noticeable in various ways.

Can't vouch for the reliability but this is pretty interesting: https://www.statista.com/topics/2780/soccer-in-the-us/

Also, everywhere I've lived, worked, or gone to school there has been a good amount of soccer fans. US has a huge population of Europeans and Hispanics of course soccer is popular here. Batlord just suffers from redneckery.

The US is just a European outpost.

Club statement - https://www.lcfc.com/news/890995/clu.../press-release

Quote:
It is with the deepest regret and a collective broken heart that we confirm our Chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, was among those to have tragically lost their lives on Saturday evening when a helicopter carrying him and four other people crashed outside King Power Stadium. None of the five people on-board survived.

The primary thoughts of everyone at the Club are with the Srivaddhanaprabha family and the families of all those on-board at this time of unspeakable loss.

In Khun Vichai, the world has lost a great man. A man of kindness, of generosity and a man whose life was defined by the love he devoted to his family and those he so successfully led. Leicester City was a family under his leadership. It is as a family that we will grieve his passing and maintain the pursuit of a vision for the Club that is now his legacy.

A book of condolence, which will be shared with the Srivaddhanaprabha family, will be opened at King Power Stadium from 8am on Tuesday 30 October for supporters wishing to pay their respects.

Supporters unable to visit King Power Stadium that wish to leave a message can do so through an online book of condolence, which will be made available via lcfc.com in due course.

Both Tuesday’s First Team fixture against Southampton in the EFL Cup and the Development Squad fixture against Feyenoord in the Premier League International Cup have been postponed.

Everyone at the Club has been truly touched by the remarkable response of the football family, whose thoughtful messages of support and solidarity have been deeply appreciated at this difficult time.
RIP.

You got it all wrong, I'm not anti-American at all (apart from everything about American foreign policy, the unchecked capitalism, allergy to socialism etc). It's actually one of the issues I'm getting into fights with my boyfriend because he is unequivocally anti-american and I spend a lot of time trying to explain why America is still amazing, despite all of its problems.

What I said in the original post was simply that it's also a violent and scary place, which after the umpteenth mass shooting I think is not really debatable.

I find it really curious how you're getting all patriotic about this. What, only Americans can say something negative about America? I criticize Croatia all the time...

This is the first time in American history that nose fragments take up more of the crime scene than skull fragments.

I don't understand what's the interest in getting football to be popular also in America, it's by far the most popular sport on the planet, who cares if the Americans are into it or not?
