You are a: Communist Anti-Government Non-Interventionist Humanist Liberal

Collectivism score: 100%
Authoritarianism score: -33%
Internationalism score: -33%
Tribalism score: -67%
Liberalism score: 33%

Don't understand how I can possibly be 'anti-government' when I was very defensive of welfare and most forms of government intervention. Unless I am misunderstanding the term.

I think you're misunderstanding. Of course everyone's views on specific issues constantly change - I'm talking about your broader philosophy/ideology: that is, your values and the values of policy you like, and the framework through which you evaluate more specific, more real policy issues. This test tries to measure both specifics and broader philosophy, and I don't know whether that's really necessary.

I was somewhere in my late teens/early twenties when I realized just how full of **** my political views were. I knew my views would continue to evolve, but I thought that I had at least figured out the "important part" that all my subsequent political views would develop around. I was in my mid/late twenties when I realized I was just as, if not more full of **** then I was in my teens. I pretty much discarded my entire political viewpoint like so much garbage.

Now I don't bother trying to figure out some kind of "philosophy/ideology", because it's stupid to think that a hairless ape who just figured out how to make fire knows anything about how economics or bureaucracy or foreign policy should be conducted, let alone that it should be able to come up with some overarching system to interpret such matters on a wider scale.

It's why I think political punk is usually obnoxious and self-indulgent.

this line of rhetoric is silly because it comes from the thoughts of a hairless ape while dismissing any attempt that any hairless ape might make at forming a thought as useless, basically rendering itself impotent

Is it silly to realize that I probably shouldn't pick a fight with bear? Honestly, I think your average working class moron probably has a better chance at KO'ing a Grizzly than he does figuring out whether or not the government should have bailed out Wall Street, or how the West should deal with the Middle East.

And clearly you agree with me since you keep going on about using AI to govern the human race.

you misunderstand me

i think robots will eventually take over, annihilating/casting aside the human race. they might drive us to extinction the same way we drive some exotic/irrelevant species of starfish to extinction.

because they will be smarter and thus better than us

but atm humans are the most intelligent thing on the planet, so i don't doubt our ability to solve complex economic & technological problems, such as designing the robots that will eventually bring our demise (assuming we don't nuclear war or global warming ourselves to death first)

Any progress the human race has made has generally been in spite of the common man. Was it public discourse among cobblers and farm hands that gave us the US Constitution? No. It was rich, highly educated people who already knew how to govern, probably praying to whatever god they may or may not have believed in that their cretinous constituents wouldn't ruin all their hard work.

And yet, with all of their brilliance, a mere two hundred years later our democracy has become an impotent joke because of said cretins. Occasionally we manage to elect somebody -- through some happy accident -- who kind of knows what they're doing, or at least has a few good ideas that they can manage to implement, but for the most part, the American public continues to prove that they have no business being listened to.

If we can figure out a way to make some kind of constitutional aristocracy like the Roman Republic work, then I'd be all for it. Those rich, educated folk might still be ****ups, but at least they know how actually find Afghanistan on a map.

@Batlord - I'd go as far as saying anyone who doesn't have at least a Ba/Masters in economics/politics/foreign policy will not understand the full impact of the decisions or idealogies they stand behind.

We can solve complex economic problems. The problem is not the problems. The problem is the people who make the decisions about how to solve the problems.

and assuming we can create an intelligent mind that has the capability of surpassing our intellect is also a pretty bold statement to stand behind.

The Wall Street douchebags were probably the most capable people on the planet at figuring out how economics actually work, and yet even they clearly don't know what they're doing, or at least how to divorce their ambitions from their common sense. If some guy whose entire life revolves around knowing how the economy works doesn't know what he's doing, then what the **** chance does anyone else have?
