I've read the story and many others like it. I know he was following the bird and just as he fired the lawyer came into the picture, since the vp wasn't aware of his whereabouts he was hardly at fault for pulling the trigger. From what has been reported it really was an accident.

I realise your position of "defend the presidency at all costs" must be stressful and tiring but you need to relax a little.

And that was funny adidass even if the link is a dud.

Dayumn boy, you're right. Looking like you have chickenpox is FAR more dangerous than actually having it.

That has less to do with the shot and more to do with the fact he's an old man and that increased the likelihood of that happening 1000x times over.

I've gotten shot by a pellet gun my friend. Hurts like hell, and actually was sore and slightly swollen for maybe 4 days, but that was it. I understand the humor value, since I laughed when I first saw it, but that's really all it is. This has no effect on the man's ability or lack of ability to do his job.

It shows his ability (or lack there of) to make decisions based upon the danger of a situation. It shows his ability (or lack there of) to act responsibly with the abundant information at his disposal. It doesn't effect his ability to do his job, it indicates it. I'm not saying that Cheney shooting a guy makes him an idiot, rather that it further shows him to be an idiot.

You've been shot by a pellet gun, he was shot by a shotgun loaded with pellets. You're young, he's old. The stakes are slightly different. I don't care what "happens when you're hunting", a man in a position of such power should be the sort of person able to correctly assess the situation. Cheney failed to do so, which reflects upon how he acts within the confines of his political status.

You're lack of hunting experience makes it hard for you to analyze the situation, much less show how Cheney did a poor job analyzing the situation.

Cheney was not aware that one member of the party was missing. I don't care what protocols are commonly in place, if you're wandering around with a loaded gun you should know who's actually in the "line" before you start pulling the trigger. A Vice President can, and should, be expect to live up to higher standards and act with greater responsibility than the average person. If he weren't why aren't we sticking Johnny Nobody in the seat of power? This is NOT a hunting issue, this is a position based issue.
