This is just another classic in a long line of examples that demonstrate to us that those who argue for family values the loudest are typically the worst at adhering to them.

On the Democrats side its been

Spitzer

and Clinton

The time table is remarkable.

I would point out though that for some reason democrats don't tend to have legislative affairs, for what its worth thus making them less of a party issue. At least ostensibly. When Senators and Congressmen on the national level drop the ball, its sign as far more of a party thing than personal thing.

I think Spitzer was New Yorks problem and Sanford is South Carolina's problem (though he was gearing up for a Pres bid and was the leaders of the Repub's governors group).

Clinton's, arguably the largest of them all and the fire starter to this recent string. (I think they said 23 have happened since his run) but it seems there is a consistent **** news machine for the once and brief majority.

I live in South Carolina, and honestly, I couldn't give less of a ****. People like to act like its a big deal, and that he's some sort of exception.

Here's what I think. A couple weeks back, Mark Sanford made a remark about Rush Limbaugh, who some consider to be the definitive member of the Republican Party. He said something about how a radio host shouldn't be considered higher on the list than the actual politicians - surprisingly realistic. But as we all know, in politics no good deed goes unpunished.

The way I see it, this is Rush Limbaugh's revenge.

Like we're supposed to act like he's the only politician that is and was having an affair.

Well, in Rush's defense, he did try to blame Sanford's affair on the Obama stimulus. He's not entirely vindictive.

He is a part of his state's government but like I said not a part of the US government. I'm sure this sounds like serious hair-splitting to you, but the way things are set up here, at least in theory, states are their own entities with their own constitutions and their own governments that are kind of separate from the federal government. That's why we call them states and not provinces. So while it's true that he does represent a state that is part of the US, he is not a part of my government.

in theory? Why not practice?

Sanford, with apparent exception of Elephant, has no governmental role on the members here. I'm woefully unaware of how provinces govern honestly.
