Why is it that two other people picked up on the sarcasm though?

I believe that it's not about burning bras and hating men. It's about women becoming empowered and empowering their own to be what they want to be. Yes women can do anything these days, but it doesn't mean it's easier. We are expected to run households, look after children, manage finances, have a career and a husband. No wonder they can't cope. No wonder rates of depression are so high. With all the benefits of equal rights has come a LOT of responsibility.

Were women really destined to be carers and child bearers? Is it really in the Earth's best interests to produce any more children? I don't believe it is. I think tighter controls should be enforced and more focus be on feeding the people that already exist who live in dire situations. I may be rambling but I really think people put down feminism without realising what it has done for women in the past and what it could still do presently to improve women's welfare.

I'm all for equality, but some times femenists do make me laugh. The ones that make me laugh are the ones who hate men. They are good for some lols.

I think someone posted how it could just not be in human nature to not stay monagamous. I think for some people that could be true. It just seems the older I get the less marriage matters to people.
I could tell you of several male friends of mine the bang other girls while having a girlfriend. My ex girlfriend's husband was cheating on her after she had a kid. She did not find this out until after we stared dating (she legally seperated from him for other reasons. That was just icing on the cake to finalize the divorce and go for everything), but they wound up back together.
I have seen how people care very little about marriage and I have seen how it means alot to others. Depends on the person I think really. For me if someone cheated while I was married I would not want to be bothered trying to work it out. There is no way for someone to win my trust back after that.

My friend Jes' gilfriend. We all went out to eat. I held the door for the both of them. She got mad and said she could do it herself. So walking out I held it for Jes and let it hit her girlfriend. She got mad and said I had no manners. I asked her what happened to doing it herself. Now that may make me look like an *******, but I found it funny how I try to be nice and she gets pissed, but then since she said she could do it herself I let the door swing it hit her and she got mad at that. That girl and her friends it was always a lose lose situation.

I (being a woman) have no problem with feminism in and of itself. I think it should be fairly obvious that women deserve equality in terms of work, societal and political respect, and the like.

With that said, there's a great deal of the mindset of many "feminists" I've encountered which seems quite appalling to say the least.

There are a lot of wonderful organizations striving to secure equal rights for women, and their mission statements clearly state that it is for equal rights. I have, however, in my travels encountered many a radical feminist. The way in which they describe what feminism is all about has little if nothing to do with equal rights and everything to do with their conviction that women are superior to men in every way.

Many of these so-called feminists will attribute all of the problems currently going on in the world to men, claiming that if women were totally in charge and men were to adopt the more submissive role generally perceived as feminine, that the world would be a far better place. This seems to me to be both unrealistic and somewhat ignorant; human error, pride, and all manner of other purportedly negative things contributing in part to the state of the world is not exclusive to men. Women aren't perfect, and men aren't perfect. It has everything to do with individuals, regardless of gender.

I understand that this probably seems to be rambling on a bit, but my point is that feminism should legitimately be about equality. The reason a lot of people have given me for their opposition to the feminist movements is due in no small part to the radical feminists whose agenda seems to be the eradication of men and not equal rights.

Yea she was a bitch. I hold the door for everyone. I usually make that effort and if someone says "no it's okay go in I got it" I'll either tell them not it's okay they can go, or I will go in myself. What she did really pissed me off, but made me laugh.

To me, yeah - it does. I've also been in the situation where I hold someone's door up/is willing to carry stuff and get told that they're not handicapped and can do it themselves. Although these comments may have been a bit confrontational, I get them and I wouldn't call them angry. I doubt the girl you're talking about was really angry too, it just makes your point look better if you make it seem like she was.

Of course she gets angry when you let the door hit her. That's because you did something which is not morally okay. Why are you being chivalrous in the first place? Reading your post, I get the feeling it's only a vague attempt at masking the unchivalrous person you are underneath. When a little thing challenges your interest in behaving right, you do the opposite. Chivalry on you is like a nice coat of paint on an ugly car, although probably less permanent.

Just thought I would point this out. Morals are subjective. Thanks.
