New Zealand to sneak in Internet disconnection copyright law with Christchurch quake emergency legislation

Basically, the NZ government is trying to pass a previously-rejected three-strikes internet disconnection law by attaching it to legislation dealing with the earthquakes in Christchurch. The anti-piracy bill can cause repeat offenders to lose internet access for six months.

I'm kind of worried about this. What should I do once October 1st kicks in? Do I download IP hiding software, are there any closed file sharing groups I can join? Can we do something like that on MB?

Is IP hiding software really that reliable?

Usually when this debate has come up in other places the ISP providers are dead against it because they don't want to lose out on profits on a whim because of the entertainment industry.

If it wasn't for that this law would be a lot more widespread.
