are you sure about that because i'm pretty sure gays have to follow all the same rules as other military people including the very strict rules on ALL relationships

I'm glad they got rid of the policy, and I'm with everyone else here who is saying that they don't respect patriotism or pride.

That being said... i'm not against the military. I just think it should be viewed like any other job. And I guess policy as far as sexual orientation should fall in line with that.

Don't ask don't tell is a stupid policy. It should just be don't ask. If someone wants to talk about their sexual orientation that's fine, but it isn't really anyone else's business. It should be the same expectations for conduct across the board and that should be good enough. People who are anti-gay should be the ones facing punishment, not gay people being forced to be silent about their sexual preference as if it were something to be ashamed of.

Technically no, though I was under the impression they put some sort of moratorium on it.

Not sure. There's probably a lot more personal leniency in units, with them knowing it's about to be passed, but from that link, it looks like the person getting kicked out actually wanted it.

I wouldn't be surprised if folks having second thoughts about serving try to use the tail end of DADT as an out, before it's too late.
