What you're telling me is that people who are furious about this religious "issue" aren't drawing from larger, different issues?

The truth is, that speech alone isn't offensive except for the 19 year olds who are nose-deep in Ayn Rand novels.

Is there any reason the death of Bin Laden has turned into a religious debate?

If he wont I will. Westburough baptist church are an extreme example of modern western religion. They basically just take advantage of free speech so that they can spew religious beliefs that only the mentally ill will accept.

The real problem is those who don't stand out so much. The people who want to ban books, who want to change curriculum, or keep the churches tax free, who want to send bibles instead of tools, books, and food to third world nations. Those who don't want to see the world as it really is, and don't want to us to go on making the world a better place. People who support mother teresa, people who follow the pope as he outlaws contraception and plays a major role in the outbreak of AIDS and over population in Africa.

But you're right. All we're doing is overreacting to a family of insane baptists. That's it. You're a very reasonable person.

And only an idiot could pretend that language is meaningless. You don't prove anything by trivializing things, all you show is a lack of interest in addressing the real issues - and therefore a probable inability to.

Slightly, I need a sum up because there is too many spewing posts of subtle attacks to get to the actual content.

Janz thought Obama became Pat Robertson in his speech tonight.

Janzsoon was peeved that Obama invoked religious overtones in his speech immediately succeeding Osama's death, so TheBig3 challenged him. Voila

Sure, and the larger issue is Obama starting to look and act more like Bush with each passing day, which has nothing to do with Westboro Baptist or Terry Jones.

Am I a 19 year old nose-deep in Ayn Rand novels? No. So no need to engage in such ad hominems, eh?

When I see him behaving in exactly the same way as Bush it is, most definitely, a case of shitting in my face. And, honestly, do you really think that it makes any sense to end a speech which contained declarations of "we are not at war with Islam" with a bunch of Christian-themed platitudes? Sounds like a good way to undermine one's own speech to me.

I could only find one post, where you actually attempted to explain anything. You started by saying there were "a string of several Christian comments". You've never said what those comments were. I think you had a flashback of Bush, maybe from PTSD and possibly decided your vote for the 2012 election off of this one little speech.
