Whadya expect? A totally random event, a bit bizarre yes, with completely shady details of a human being who thinks he's a zombie. As mentioned before, if he were captured alive, a lot more could have been discovered regarding his intentions and how it came about. I find this event only mildly interesting. What's there to be discussed about the sickness of humanity? (unless you meant it literally in the sense of a mental illness). It's more-so an unfortunate isolated event rather than some form of injustice (which is partly why it didn't receive any strong reactions). The bath salts bit left me quite confused since I have not much clue of its uses and chemical properties (other than adding salts to a bath?).

This is ENTIRELY about bath-salts. They'll be unilaterally banned real soon, hopefully. The bath salts are designed to be dissolved in fifteen gallons of water, for a bath, to numb your limbs. Imagine the potency of that stuff if taken nasally! There have been similar bouts of bath-salts induced hostile insanity reported all over the continent, though none so serious as this. I took acid in high-school, and I can therefore almost understand this unprecedented violent attack. A bad trip is a bad trip. That must've been one HELL of a bad trip to eat someone's face, though. The attacker's friends are all pretty adamant about this being a completely drug-induced maniacal act, and I am inclined to agree. I've done many drugs in my time, and I've heard drugs erroneously blamed for almost every national problem that arises, but I genuinely believe that the bath-salts drug is the biggest criminal element in this tragedy.

It seems "bath salts" are not real bath salts, but a nickname for the purpose of legitimizing and easier marketing of some designer drugs.

Tore is correct. The term "bath salts" is another way of saying "do not ingest", which a lot of those types of drugs also have on their packages to legitimize them.
I ordered some Salvia a few years back and the package said "Plant food. Not for human consumption".
I guarantee you that Salvia is not plant food.
