Well initially it was only so-much-percent, now it's emerging as more like seventy or more. But it's still beef, just that horsemeat (or as they say, equine DNA) has been mixed in with it. Plus, have you ever tasted horse meat? Nor have I. I'm sure I wouldn't know it if I tasted it.

You just expect what's printed on the box to be what's in the box, ya know?

As for coming up earlier, seems it only came to light because the D of A decided to conduct "standard" tests on some meat and found worrying results so went further, after which the whole thing blew up.

Now there are definitely going to be jobs lost, as at least Rangeland Foods and Silvercrest are surely going to lose so much business they'll either have to shut down or let staff go, and Irish reputation for food is damaged, all because some **** wanted to make some money and others went along with it. What a world...
