^ I'm thinking the same thing. Plus, the video footage I saw of both blasts, showed explosions behind the crowd, not in front.

Some friends of mine think this is all a staged event and that they're going to blame some kid who will say that he used gunpowder or something.... just read this:

Sounds like garden variety conspiracy theory bullshit to me.

I don't believe it either, but I have to admit I'll be pretty intrigued if they really find someone like that on Friday.

That's the same position of the bag, the second blast. I apologize for the graphic image. Unlike the other image it shows the side of the mailbox facing the blast. Unlike the now contorted fencing, those boxes have heavy bolts on all four feet anchored in several inches of concrete. Those things are built to withstand the impact of a car.

I cannot find a clear YouTube of the second blast.

yeah... i'm not gonna say that i'm convinced that yellowish bag is the bomb (although it does seem likely), but i will agree with the notion that a mailbox like that could endure a small bomb going off beside it with very little noticeable damage.

And more if this post box is anything to go by.
It withstood the blast of a 3,300lb (1500Kg) bomb.

OK fair enough: I did not know that about post (mail) boxes. I withdraw my comment...
