Why would you not have the right to be offended by the joke and tell the guy? I think if offended people could just start wearing panties that would be very helpful. Thanks

That's totally fine. But i'm asking if it's the responsibility of the person telling the joke to feel bad about telling the joke prior to knowing it was going to offend anyone. It could have easily just been a silly retort, but as soon as somebody is offended, apparently it's a big issue, which I don't understand.

Its that persons responsibility to their self to feel bad about whatever they want to feel bad about. I think the World is already over-regulated, Over thought, Sensitive, and slowly becoming no fun at all. If you don't find something funny don't laugh, If it offends you then say something, but over thinking like this is just a waste of your time honestly. Not directed at you just society in general so no offense.

Exactly. Yes, I have mentioned that I wouldn't say the jokes around said person if they found offense, and yes, I would apologize for offending them, but personally I wouldn't feel bad about it nor would I feel obligated to change my behavior completely because of one person getting offended. I just don't see any reason to do so. And I absolutely agree.

There are a lot of things that you can do to make sure you're not subject to abuse, and there's nothing stopping you from doing them. Just worry about the things that you can control, and everything will be okay.
