Yeah shock value can do that, it's why I find myself laughing whenever Uncle Ruckus (no relation) speaks on The Boondocks.

I do know what you mean when it comes to young kids and using it in conversation so casually, as if there isn't such a disgusting and violent connotation to it. Most of them could not even imagine.
As I said, I misworded that horribly and for that I apologize.

It carries over into other uses too.

Fat, Ugly or Slutty is a site dedicated to showing the sexual abuse female gamers receive via things like Xbox Live and it can be pretty hard to read. It also makes me wonder what the parents of the person writing it would think if they found out. Honestly I really wish Microsoft did something more about the abuse, because it only costs them money and integrity when female gamers cancel their subscriptions because of the abuse.

Yeah I was just talking about that. I remember some of the things that would be said to me when I used to play Halo. As soon as they found out I was a girl, it was just disgusting.

there was a youtube video recently of a pretty mature and reasonable discussion/debate about rape type jokes. it was some famous comedian and some feminist i think. maybe this mentioning will remind someone of it.

i have no problem with any jokes or what people think about me or others when they are used. actually i kinda have a problem with some of the 'make me a sanwich/get in the kitchen' type jokes but it isn't about the content bein offensive its because i jsut dont think its funny or original. same with dead baby jokes, just not funny. but i have no problem with jokes that offend people or cross arbitrary lines of sensitivity. i contemplated sayin this cause i dont wanna derail the thread and start ww3 with certain ppl but since it pertains, i DO truly honestly believe that some ppl who get up in arms about some jokes are expressing fake and/or exagerated outrage and its not genuine

that comes from my general outlook on life which is the world is too concerned with politically correct and pussified lol. there are probably jokes that pertain to events in my life that another person with my past would be offended by but i just dont care. if someone cant take a joke im never gonna lose sleep over it. i also dont really care or put a whole lotta stock in 'humor helps us heal.' i mean i guess it is true to an extent but i think we should just be able to laugh at jokes and not take them so seriously

No one cares about your outlook on life tho like who asked for ur autobiography? All you're doing is victim blaming while telling us **** literally no one cares about and then you're going to whine about this post.

Your total inability to grasp irony is actually astounding

@ 216 I'm sure you're trolling but people like you are the reason this is a problem.

I agree. Happens a lot in Britain, grieving and being offended are like national sports here imo. One example: There was a footballer called Fabrice Muamba who had a cardiac arrest on the pitch and nearly died on television. The nation went into a massive forced outpouring of grief, everybody posting tributes, players getting t shirts printed, all sorts, it was cringey as fuck. A football fanzine printed this cover and got absolutely slated for it - http://www.whoateallthepies.tv/wp-co...2/03/ri260.jpg

I thought it was funny as fuck and bang on.

That's making fun of the situation, not really his death.

It's not saying "We hope the player is dead." It would be different if it did.

The same way there's a difference between a joke about raping someone and a joke about the rape culture.

It's not attacking anyone specific, it's attacking an idea.

im not trollin at all and i dunno how you would even come to that conclusion, everything i said is my personal opinion and i stand by all of it. sorry u disagree with that

fluffy, i agree its all very cringy. i cant pinpoint the reasoning to be honest but i think maybe its a desire to feel superior somehow or put others down to make yourself feel good?? im talkin about the fake outrage thing. it just seems so common now and it makes me face palm cause i think its ridiculous. everyone should lighten up in my opinion and just take jokes for what they are and thats jokes
