Honestly, it all comes down to this. If you want kids, great, nobody should give you **** about it. If you don't want kids, great, nobody should still give you **** about it. I'm finding that there are more people willing to tell a person who doesn't want kids that they're making a mistake than to tell a person who wants a kid that they need to think about it first.

And there's also a lot of people that think that just because you don't want kids, you must hate them or something. (We don't hate 'em - we just don't want to be around them forever.)

It is pretty equal both ways in my experience. I'm sorry for you finding it more weighted on one side than the other but that's not a general thing. With more and more people being child-less/free they have been giving people that have kids/want them grief for some stupid reason. It's not even any of their business.

I nominate this thread for stupid thread of the millennium, and even if a stupider one spawns out of someones stupidity, this one still must remain as a stupid runner up.

Spanking Your Children = No. Physical harm to anyone will only foster deep resentment. There is no rebuttal on this so shut the **** up.

Having Kids = Whatever the **** you think you want to do with your selfish little life is up to you, but the simple fact remains that without reproduction the human race would no longer exist. So go ahead. Enjoy your meaningless existence.

Honestly If I wasn't spanked as a kid I would have been even worse off then the cretin I was to begin with.

I do not however believe that having a kid brings more meaning to your life. Perhaps it gives you more purpose, however that is also debatable. It certainly does bring you great responsibility, which some people are incapable of.
