Welcome to presidential politics 101. Same as it ever was - same as it ever was.

Did you actually expect anything different in 2016 than from 2012, 2008, 2004, 2000, 1996, 1992, 1988, 1984, 1980, and 1976? (these are the ones that I've actually paid attention to.)

He in turn praised her for being very strong and never giving up on what she believes in. Completely broke the tension between them.
If you're asked to praise somebody and they praise somebody else then it's probably not a compliment.

Praising a man's children for being strong and successful is in fact praising their father. Remember that the Clintons and Trumps have known each other for decades.

You'd need to be a dad to get this one I guess.

Then why didn't she praise the father? To not see the backhanded compliment you'd have to be trying to. I think it's an epic diss TBH.

I thought the comments toward each other were both worthy of being a compliment. You could hear it in Trump's voice as well that he took it as a compliment.

Dude, nobody had any good feelings toward the other. Either they were trashing talking on the downlow or trying to not sound like they were trash talking. All bull****, and trying to find anything otherwise is bull****.

She doesn't respect him but respects him as a father. Someone can say that I'm an ******* but still admit that I did a great job raising my kids.

And trust me, when the smoke has fully cleared after the election they will both go back to being cordial to one another, maybe even friends again.
Pretty certain they both understand how the game of politics goes.

Y'all are dumb for believing those ingenuine ass, passive aggressive answers.

What Clinton actually said during her speech to Wall Street banks (from the Wikileaks transcripts):

Quote:
You just have to sort of figure out how to — getting back to that word, “balance” — how to balance the public and the private efforts that are necessary to be successful, politically, and that’s not just a comment about today. That, I think, has probably been true for all of our history, and if you saw the Spielberg movie, Lincoln, and how he was maneuvering and working to get the 13th Amendment passed, and he called one of my favorite predecessors, Secretary Seward, who had been the governor and senator from New York, ran against Lincoln for president, and he told Seward, I need your help to get this done. And Seward called some of his lobbyist friends who knew how to make a deal, and they just kept going at it.
So she was being completely honest last night during the debate.
