Nah, I think he's a twat and calling him a "journalist" is a stretch. He's more of a TV personality at this point than anything else.

If we can call Wolf Blitzer or Sean Hannity journalists, well let's just give John Oliver the Pulitzer now.

I definitely agree with that, but I think that quote comes from a place of respect for journalism. There's a spirit of it in his program, but LWT is definitely not an unbiased source of news information. That doesn't mean it isn't still informative, entertaining, and valuable in its own right for being able to cross the boundaries of news and entertainment in a way that is much more constructive than its predecessors.

He doesn't say anything that ever resonates with me or seems all that intelligent, he just caters to the people who are watching him. If you agree with what he's saying I'm sure it would be easier to digest and support.

Also, yeah his election coverage was garbage and seeing it every time I scrolled down my TL on Facebook probably brought more distaste for him.
