Yes of course, I'm sure the huge influx of refugees into Europe prompted many people to vote Leave. True as well that Sweden and Germany have been more hospitable.
I don't have statistics to hand, but my feeling is that Britain is smaller and more densely populated than many European countries, which perhaps has led people to think, "We have plenty of people (of all nationalities) living here already. Can our country sustain a huge new influx of people?"
Already there is unprecedented pressure on UK schools, healthcare, transport infrastructure and housing to provide for the present residents. People complain all the time that these services/resources are inadequate for the population, and a wave of new immigration would only make that worse.
