Your whole point about population density is a bit of a non sequitur anyway. The people in the dense urban areas are the ones more likely to support immigration in the US and UK, and probably in Canada as well.

Generally speaking yes. Although I would prefer California over South Dakota the US doesn't get overtly cold.

Of course it's called urban flight, which is why people have moved out of the central London towards Essex. immigrants always gravitate towards city centers, it's in a large part why these riding always swing to the left.
