Not only rape is wrong wrong, but also lust, which is a desire that precedes it.

Talking about lust and whatnot is really not the same thing talking about rape so we can set aside the Bible quotes. Also the catechism only applies to the Catholic Church and was first published in 1992. If that's one of the earliest relious prohibitions against rape in any religion then that's quite an indictment of religion in general.

They dont talk about rape because there was no word for rape in that time period.

Most languages I thought. Right up until the dark ages.Even then I still dont think it was called rape. We can ask the Google. Or the internets....

It probably wasn't called rape in most languages because most languages are not English. It does occur numerous times in the Bible though so it's interesting that there's nothing in there specifically condemning it.

Since the Bible is allegedly the Christian god's word, then yes it's a good enough reason to denounce that particular god concept.

I haven't seen anyone in this thread try to make the case that morality is unnecessary so that part of your comment is kind of a non sequitur.
