NASA is legit. Most classrooms just show drawings, not the real source, to teach children about the solar system and sun. Was your experience different? Did you take a field trip to the sun?

In the case of comets since those are what you brought up and are discussing, yes. I can't say for certain if there are any other things that cause tails in space though.

oh i know. it's everything i saw on the journey - which would take a really long one-on-on convo to relay properly to someone - which landed me here. it's not one single thing. your expectations of paradigm shifting truths are unrealistic. i can't convince anyone of this. they have to do that themselves. all i'm interested in is having some conversation about it. you can assume what it is you think i should be doing all you want. it's not going to accomplish anything.

You also didn't explain to me why a car's exhaust creates a tail but the car itself doesn't.

the sun is not a rock with a solid, static surface. it's clearly gaseous. i really don't see why understanding this is such a hard thing.
