It’s the logical conclusion of private property.

Quote:
"That was a rule that basically took your property away from you," he told the assembled farmers.
It stands to reason that if you believe a person should be able to own land then thet should be able to destroy it.

Property is theft!

This is a perfect example. Does nature belong to all of is or to just the person the law claims it belongs? It’s time we took a hard stance against private property whether the owner is Putin or Zuckerberg.

Japan now plans to build as many as 22 new coal-burning power plants — one of the dirtiest sources of electricity — at 17 different sites in the next five years, just at a time when the world needs to slash carbon dioxide emissions to fight global warming.

Together the 22 power plants would emit almost as much carbon dioxide annually as all the passenger cars sold each year in the United States.

I’ve been saying this for years. Every ounce of coal and oil and every fossil fuel is going to be burnt for energy. Even if it’s outlawed it’ll be sold onthe black market. It’s too convenient and too powerful to go unused. It might as well be free heroin in Seattle.

Well, considering how Japan feels about nuclear power at this point, it doesn't surprise me in the least.

Great Barrier Reef hit by third major bleaching event in five years
The Great Barrier Reef is experiencing its most widespread coral bleaching event, according to scientists who say record warm temperatures and warming oceans are threatening its fragile corals.
Just in case people are running out of things to worry about.

re:Japan and coal

The minor upshot here is that Japan is running out of people, and sea-level rise will take them fairly early.
