So rich guys using their platforms for political advocacy is the way forward? Jesus, dude, just get over being dumped already.

It's not the way forward. It's just the way it is right now.

Just admit you don't actually believe in the cause that much but have attached yourself to it for a sense of purpose and identity. Instead of making stupid excuses like the world is on fire and I would help but social anxiety.... Just admit the real reason is because you know deep down joining the DSA will almost certainly make no difference.
Yeah the cause is looking kinda bleak atm but I also agree with the goals and principles and don't require immediate results in order to not go full nihilism like some neo-fascists I know.
So incrementalism, then? ;)
Nah, hold the line till the rubber band snaps and more radical options become possible. The George Floyd protests were an example of this where the spark didn't quite catch.
Hold the line by doing nothing until eventually **** changes and we can do something?
The 2020 protests probably wouldn't have gotten as big as they did without the pandemic and the special climate that created. It sounds like you are basically saying stand back and stand by until there's a chance for revolution, which sounds like the perfect way to rationalize the fact that you run around here screaming like the world is about to end and the GOP is going to do another Holocaust but aren't even remotely motivated to do anything about it. |
And the French Revolution might never have happened the way it did if there hadn't been a famine. Evolving conditions allow for new possibilities.
