And what if I buy a laptop and donate? Is that not ok because im buying myself something? Or am I just suppose to donate all my money? Your argument doesn't make sense realistically. I help where I can. But that doesn't mean I can't enjoy my life. That's not selfish.

The point is is that starvation, a problem that can be solved with ****ing food, is a failure of all of humanity. ****ing all of us. You, me, everyone, we’re all ****ing failing the kids in Sudan who will starve to death today. And dude if it were you starving you would think Jesus if I was on the other side I would ****ing help. I wouldn’t just ignore this ****. As your body ate itself and you died the extraordinarily painful death of starvation you would absolutely question the humanity of everyone who looked the other way.

I understand that my WiFi, my weed, my Black Sabbath t-shirt all of those things could have saved lives. Those deaths are on me. It’s simple math. It’s shameful but true. We’re greedy pieces of ****. All of us.

If you have $1000 to split between a laptop and a donation then you have $1000 for a donation. I guarantee that you will not run out of people dying of something preventable.

I’ve known people from my anarchist collective days in Portland doing critical mass and food not bombs and so on that gave away everything after food and shelter were met.

If your question is should we all do that until death from deprivation is a thing of the past my answer is yes. Yes, it’s selfish of you to take more than you need.

You may have enough to survive, but you never know what tomorrow will bring. All of that money could become worthless due to inflation and supply saturation. And the more that you have, the more you can give to those in need.

In your mind, self preservation = selfishness. You just want everyone to be equal, whether that means we're all rich or all poor.
