I'd like to think so, but with the conservative religious and social beliefs of working class minorities I'd say the Republicans have the most to gain. So I see a net loss for the Democrats in that realm, but it'll probably be a long term thing. It'll take more than a few elections for African Americans and Latinos to forget everything that the Repubs have worked for against them, but eventually they'll come to terms.

Unless of course those minorities in the meantime achieve wealth equality with whites and cease to be working class, both economically and socially, and that is most certainly laughable.

Yes. I’ve had conversations with southern Republicans who respect Jihadists more than a secular liberal.

Many Hispanics are close to single issue pro-life voters.

Ethnic Chinese and Vietnamese often side with the Republican hard ass attitude against communism.

Also, most first and second generation ethic minorities are both racist and much more ambivalent about racism from others. Go to a large Chinatown or Koreatown and see what they really think of blacks. Ask Cubans about Mexicans. Ask Africans about American blacks. The obsession with racial tolerance is a black and white thing.

So the short walk to a big tent GOP is really very easy to imagine. It’s not inconceivable that they could keep pandering to white supremacists and only lose blacks who hardly ever vote anyway.

The Republicans are doing it actively by bringing in younger minorities and pseudominorities like Rubio. The dems have done it, but it was more of a compromise to let Bernie concede support to the dumpster.
