It's just a brand of pie.

Savoury pies, you know like you get in chip shops. Chicken & mushroom, steak & kidney etc.

The big northern brand I think is Hollands. Midland brand is Pukka. They do balti pies as well which are the best by far.

You would think curry in a pie wouldn't work but why not? Cornish pasties have pepper in them. Patties have heat too.

Everyone who I know who hasn't had one, seems horrified when I explain what they are.

You'd struggle to find one in the US but you could probably find a curry patty in a Caribbean store. Would be an OK compromise I think.
