I'm more on your side than you might think, I just don't like the sweeping application of critical race theory. I think it waters down what it entails.

I don't see what's even difficult or controversial about having a distinction between racism and institutional racism. I mean, it's in the words.

Prejudice about race is racism.
Institutional racism is racism on the institutional level (kind of duh, really).

If a black guy judges a person simply on the basis of being white, he's being a racist.
While himself living in a system that is perhaps racist against black people on an institutional level.

Simple math and you'd have to be a moron to disagree.
