I mentioned on Friday that I was let go from my 6-year career in IT following an 18-year run as a graphic designer. I spent the weekend compiling info and applying for Medicaid to hopefully cover my anxiety medications and related routine appointments.

Today I learned that my psychiatrist doesn't accept any of the health insurance plans covered under Medicaid. So I'll have to pay her out of pocket for every appointment. And consequently, the scripts she writes won't be covered under insurance either so I'll have to pay for them out of pocket as well.

Her secretary kindly referred me to a price comparison website for medications and it looks like I should be able to have them filled at a local grocer and pay a slightly reduced price.

I'm waiting to hear which plans, if any, are accepted by my talk therapist. That will be critical. Hopefully this is all resolved once I have new insurance coverage under a new employer. If I'm not employed in the next 3 months I'll have a lot more to worry about than just medications. I can't imagine losing my home.

innerspaceboy that's sad about the job situation, hopefully you can find something soon. I saw your post in your day thread and didnt know what to type. Hope you can find the medications for cheap that you're looking for.

I wonder if anyone could help me with this inquiry.

Does anyone know if mental health issues can transfer from like wife to husband?

I know a couple that something a bit off is happening with. I thought most mental issues were based on the individual. Does maybe over time their parent ends up affecting them to the point where they develop a condition as well?

Mental illness can be passed through family but not through peer to peer.

However, mental states can certainly affect other mental states. It's not like a virus though.

I meant to say partner instead of parent I typoed but yeah I get what you are saying. It's an odd occurrence that I haven't experienced before of partners affecting each other's mental states.

Been declining lately after a band situation. Left a noise rock band due to a lot of unrelated stressful events happening next to each other and it's leading to the fall out of many friends at once. Too much to take, been back and forth having good days and then miserable days where I want to do drastic things to my health.

Basically people just don't want to forgive me and are acting like I'm at fault for every bad thing happening at the moment in their lives. When I tried to distance myself from the situation that was wrong too because of how I went about it by blocking the bassist who was never a great friend in the first place. People are attacking me over text message and idk when it's going to end. Been a struggle of a month to say the least.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Block everyone out and isolate yourself. Protect your own peace and don't worry what others will think of you doing that.

Being by yourself will be helpful in the long run. Cut EVERYONE off.

When you are ready slowly let back in the important people but right now treat it like an emergency and get rid of everyone.
This is just a suggestion. Do whatever feels right for you.
