Gov. Cuomo's Covid-19 teleconference briefing today. Despite all the drama surrounding the sexual harassment allegations he has a point - the next 6 months in New York are crucial in terms of reopening/rebuilding: it's looking dire on the street. The 1.9 Trillion dollar federal relief legislation, which includes 12.5 billion to NY, is something Cuomo has long requested. But businesses are really suffering (if not scuttled altogether) throughout the city. Walking through Manhattan is like visiting a museum. Hope we can pull it together.

Good news for us at last!

Health Service Executive CEO Paul Reid said vaccinations of those people considered high risk because of serious illness will start in the middle of this week.

He said it will begin with 10,000 doses of the vaccine being given to those with neurological issues and disabilities aged between 16 and 69.

Mr Reid added that the HSE is working through a clear list to identify those most at risk with chronic illnesses, adding that it is not a simple list.

He stated it could be a high number of around 150,000 people who are considered to be at very high risk.

Mind you, highlighted in red, looks like they have about less than a tenth of the vaccines needed for the projected number of people to get it. I wonder where Karen will come on the list? Fingers crossed!

Yeah, Croatia is seeing a surge also, in the 156th wave or something. I guess people are just too sick of being in lockdown so they're throwing caution to the wind. And the vaccination is not proceeding at the expected speed. :/
