Look at it this way, Norg, you may have just saved your life.

As for the heart transplant, Adidass, generally it's true a heart transplant is a last resort, but in my case I don't necessarily have a death sentence with the heart I have now; I just can't function normally (I can only walk about a block without wanting to pass out for example). Even so, there are people who desperately need a heart transplant before I do.

So, I'm going to take my time and wait and see if they can get this Covid crisis under control. I don't really think the Delta variant is the end of it, I'm afraid.

It does seem like the protection from the current vaccines isn't as great as one might hope. AFAIK they may very well save your ass (and so everyone should take them) because they potentially turn deadly covid into light covid. However, vaccinated people by and large still transmit the disease. This means there's an endless amount of viruses still in circulation which makes it inevitable that new mutations will arise, presenting a never-ending source of new challenges.

The protection provided by the current generation of vaccines quickly wanes in the months following the shots. My current guess is that we're gonna have to keep some measures in place for a long ass time and probably get yearly vaccine doses for the next X number of years. We might be looking at double digits.
